I had a fantastic time at Frontier Days in Idaho City. I met a lot of friendly folks, talked about books, and enjoyed fresh squeezed lemonade. It was a very hot day, but that didn’t stop people from dressing up and participating in the festivities. Frontier Days included a lot of fun activities for children such as making butter and watching chicken poop bingo! My son enjoyed the scavenger hunt. He learned fun facts about the historic buildings in Idaho City and seemed especially interested in the local newspaper building. He loved looking at the old cannons and pretending that he was sheriff for the day. My daughter practiced her walking skills and discovered that she likes ice cream…a lot. My little family had a blast at Frontier Days, but the fun didn’t stop there. We decided to stay in Idaho City to cool off in the creek and camp.
I went to Idaho City when I was a little girl, but I forgot how much fun it was. Being a member of the Idaho Authors’ Community has been a wonderful experience so far. I look forward to traveling more of my home state and connecting even more to my roots.
Read today and every day to come because reading is so much fun!
I live in Seattle with my husband, two children, two dogs, and a cat named Ish.
My favorite job (besides being a mama and a children's author) was being a bookmobile librarian!
I am represented by Jordan Hamessley of New Leaf Literary.
