1000 Picture Books in 2016~December

December 2016 blog post.jpg

I just learned that my husband and sister thought I was reading 1000 picture books per month this year. Wow! If that were the case there would be zero time for anything else! But…I did meet my goal for the 1000 Picture Books in 2016 Reading Challenge.

Kid lit reading stats for 2016:

Picture books: 1005

Middle Grade: 7

Young Adult: 1

I’m looking forward to reading more MG and YA in 2017. I’d appreciate recommendations!

Visit my January-November posts for Goodreads links to the picture books I read in 2016.

  1. Well done! You are inspiring me to read more picture books. The Uncorked of Ocean Bottles was really wonderful 🙂

    1. Thank you, Cynthia! A lot of folks have mixed feelings about The Uncorker of Ocean Bottles because it breaks so many picture book “rules.” I thought it was beautifully done. It’s one of those books that stays with you long after you put it down.

  2. Wow, I have never thought to count how many of each kind of book I read. I’m doing a challenge myself this year, 365 posts about books either here on WordPress or on Instagram. I might have to try the 1000 picture book challenge next year though!
